This webpage provides access to the latest NOAA-AVHRR satellite imagery of the Gulf of Mexico and MMS-NTL Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) sites operating in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. This data is publicly available and a subset of the data used in our operational systems.

Buoy Information

Far Horizon Drifter Data for the Gulf Stream is now publicly available through the Integrated Ocean Observing System and distributed by the SouthEast U.S. Atlantic Coastal Ocean Observing System (SEACOOS).

Historical Data

Horizon Marine's database includes over 2200 drifting buoy trajectories and dozens of ADCP surveys. Data from the Gulf of Mexico dates back to 1982, and data from the North Brazil Current and Carribbean dates back to 2000. This data is available, under licence, for use in research projects.

Historical Eddy Watch reports are also available.
