The services concentrate on the location and migration of strong ocean currents that are characteristic of the Loop Current and eddies in the Gulf, the North Brazil Current (NBC) and rings offshore Trinidad, and the Brazil Current (BC) and its meanders and eddies offshore Brazil, and the East India Coastal Current in the Bay of Bengal, India.
The effects of these strong currents can include damage to equipment and the inability to conduct operations resulting in costly downtime. With accurate forecasts, operators are able to conduct sensitive operations during low current windows.
